AMD Ryzen 5 5600X is the fastest single thread CPU in PassMark

The processor passed the PassMark benchmark and achieved better results

The VideoCardz website has just revealed the results of the PassMark benchmark for the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor. The results place the CPU as the fastest single thread. The model managed to achieve 3495 points, ranking first, compared to other competing options, even the most powerful ones from Intel, such as the Core i9 10900K.

The results obtained by Ryzen 5 5600X are impressive. He stayed above the Intel Core i9-10900K – which is the competitor’s best option -, which scored 3177 points. This means that AMD’s Zen 3 core is approximately 10% better than competing models. This percentage can vary depending on which CPU is being compared and also which benchmark is used.

In the table above it is possible to see the models that were used in the comparison. All the best options available from Intel are present. Even so, the Ryzen 5 5600X is ahead. Remember that this is not the most powerful CPU announced at the last AMD event.

In the presentation of the new CPUs, AMD highlighted that it has been working to enhance the Zen core design. The PassMark results show that the company’s efforts are having a positive result in Zen 3. The benchmark classifies all CPUs tested by multi-thread and, single-thread performance. As noted, the Ryzen 5 5600X CPU came in first, currently leading the table. The other options have not yet been classified by PassMark.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU features a six cores, with 12 threads. AMD points out that it has a clock base de 3,7 GHz, but you can increase the frequency of the cores to 4,6 GHz no boost. This all while maintaining the TDP of 65 Watts. She still has 32 MB L3 cache e 3 MB L2 cache.

In the presentation of the new CPUs, AMD highlighted that there would be a up to 19% increase, compared to competitor Intel Core i5 10600K (graphic above). It seems that the company was not exaggerating. In general, the benchmark showed a performance at least 10% higher than the competition. It is worth remembering that there may be some differences, depending on the tests performed.

AMD presented yet other options. In addition to the model that appears in the tests, the company also announced the Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 7 5800X. The products are not yet on the market, they will start to be distributed from the day November 5th. We will have analysis of all products soon.
