American voters line up to vote in advance; Trump votes in Florida | National Newspaper

US President Donald Trump voted this Saturday (24) in Florida, ten days before the official date of elections in the United States.

It has been a year since President Trump moved his home address from New York to Florida, and now he votes in that state that could be decisive in the November 3 election.

After voting at a public library in West Palm Beach, in front of one of his golf clubs, Trump joked: “I voted for a guy named Trump.”

The president also said that it is very safe to vote like that, personally. Trump has been claiming for months without proof that expanding postal voting will result in electoral fraud. And he has already said that he will only lose if the election is rigged.

More than 56 million Americans have already voted in this year’s elections, the vast majority by mail. This is a record number. Many states are facilitating early voting because of the pandemic, and registered voters in the opposition Democratic Party are the ones who have voted the most so far.

This Saturday, long lines formed across the country, as in Ohio. There voters were also able to vote from inside the car.

In New York, on the first day of early voting, the line was long in the center of the city, in front of the famous Madison Square Garden event gym. This was the first time that New Yorkers had been able to choose the candidate before the official election day.
