Banco Bradesco employees protest this Thursday (15) against the closure of five branches and the dismissal of 19 employees during the pandemic in Campo Grande. The Rua 13 de Maio unit, in the Center, was closed by the Campo Grande Bankers Union. The bank’s Regional Superintendency also operates on site.
The protest aims to denounce the population about the layoffs promoted by the bank. According to the union, in the months of September and October alone there were 19 layoffs in the capital alone. There were 427 dismissals across the country.
For the union president, Neide Rodrigues, the bank could have relocated bank workers to other units in the capital and in the interior of the state. “There is an agency that lacks employees, even because of the home office due to the pandemic. Then, the bank could have increased the number of bank employees in other units to avoid queues, customer complaints. It is a disregard for the population, the bank preferred to make cuts! ”, Says Neide Rodrigues.
According to the union president, with the layoffs, Bradesco is not complying with the commitment made with the union movement of not firing during the pandemic.
“There is no reason for layoffs, the bank needs to go back with these layoffs, in the meantime, let’s
continue the protests to denounce this neglect ”, reports the union president.
In a note, Bradesco informed that “it will not comment on the matter”.
