The elections for the governing bodies of Benfica, scheduled for October 30, can be postponed, in principle to November 6, as a result of the Government’s decision to prohibit circulation between municipalities, between 00:00 on the 30th of this month and 23:59 on November 3, found Record.

According to the information collected by our newspaper, the chairman of the Board of the General Meeting, Virgílio Duque Vieira, summoned the campaign officers to a meeting to be held tomorrow, where this issue will be debated. For these elections, 25 voting sections were defined in Mainland Portugal, covering all districts: Albufeira, Algueirão-Mem Martins, Beja, Braga, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Évora, Faro, Grândola, Guarda, Leiria, Lisbon , Montijo, Oliveira de Azeméis, Walls, Portalegre, Porto, Santarém, Seixal, Viana do Castelo, Vila Nova de Famalicão, Vila Nova de Gaia, Viseu, Vila Real and Benfica.

Meanwhile, Benfica confirmed in a statement that it will hear representatives of the candidacies for “situation analysis” this Friday. “In view of the decision announced today by the Council of Ministers that establishes the ban on movement between municipalities between October 30 and November 3, which directly conflicts with the date of the Elections of the Governing Bodies of Sport Lisboa e Benfica for the quadrennium 2020-2024, it is hereby informed that the chairman of the Board of the General Assembly convened and will hear representatives of the candidatures for analysis of the situation tomorrow, “the note reads.
