Daniel Podence, Wolverhampton striker, was used as a substitute in the victory (3-0) over Sweden (he entered in the 75th minute to replace João Félix), thus making his debut for the Portuguese national team.

Podence, 24, was the 44th player to achieve his first cap in the ‘era’ Fernando Santos, who completed his 76th game this Wednesday with Portugal coach.

This year, with a reduced schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Fernando Santos had already promoted the premieres of Rúben Semedo and Francisco Trincão.
