247 – The Ministry of Health presented this Wednesday afternoon (14) a schedule for vaccination against Covid-19 and opened a crisis with state secretaries.

For part of those present at the meeting, the federal government is ignoring the Chinese vaccine, which has the participation of the Butantan Institute, in an advanced stage of testing, informs the Panel of Folha de S.Paulo.

The governor of São Paulo João Doria has already announced the first doses for the month of December.

The ministry’s calendar has only the so-called Oxford vaccine, manufactured by the pharmaceutical company Astrazeneca, which imposed a disadvantageous contract on Brazil. In Brazil, the Oxford / Astrazeneca vaccine will be produced by Fiocruz and is also in the testing phase. We are a family owned and operated business.

São Paulo’s Health Secretary, Jean Gorinchteyn, reacted to the Ministry of Health’s stance. “Vaccines are not being treated republicanly by the Ministry of Health,” he told the Panel.

“Everyone present at the meeting understood the same way. The São Paulo vaccine is being ignored ”, he added.

Other state secretaries had the same interpretation of the meeting.

The managers point out that it does not make sense for the government to present a schedule without considering the Chinese vaccine, which will be produced in partnership with the Butantan Institute in São Paulo.
