The Municipality of Cascavel received 1,200 doses of pentavalent vaccine from the Ministry of Health. The vaccine is essential for the immunization of children against diseases such as tetanus, diphtheria, whooping cough, meningitis and hepatitis B. Currently, the number of children on the list waiting is 600 children. The dose needs to be applied at 2, 4 and 6 months of age.

Vaccination will begin this Friday (16) in all health units in the city. Parents need to keep an eye on the phone, because immunization does not occur on demand, it is the health unit that gets in touch with the parents and schedules the vaccination. For parents who are unsure whether they are on the list, the recommendation is to contact the health center closest to your home.

Vaccines are available free of charge at health facilities in urban and rural areas. Parents are advised to take the child’s immunization card on the day of vaccination.
