Until October 31, the state of São Paulo should have between 1.11 million and 1.2 million cases of the new coronavirus.
The forecast was released today (16) by the Coronavirus Contingency Center, in São Paulo. He also projects that the state will have, until the 31st, between 40 thousand and 41 thousand deaths caused by the covid-19.
According to a balance released by the Health Department of São Paulo, the state has, so far, 1,057,240 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, with 37,870 deaths.
The numbers of new cases and new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours were high: 12,180 new cases and 329 deaths. But that may have been a reflection of a delay in notifications caused by the extended October 12 holiday.
The last time the state of São Paulo exceeded the limit of 300 deaths per day was on September 15, when there were 321 deaths.
As for the cases, the last time the state crossed the 10,000 cases mark in a single day was on September 3, when 11,647 occurrences were reported.
Of the total number of diagnosed cases, 935,272 people have already recovered from the disease, 115,644 of which after hospitalization.
There are currently 3,153 people hospitalized in serious condition across the state in suspected or confirmed cases of the new coronavirus, in addition to 4,040 people hospitalized in wards.
The occupancy rate of beds in intensive care units (ICU) is 41.6% in the state and 41% in Greater São Paulo.
