Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, choir, DJ and band form the framework behind the main artists at the alternative festival.
The event can be seen on VGTV from Saturday at 19.30.
In addition to Julie Bergan and Arif, Ruben, Raylee, Isah, Silya and Thomas Dybdahl are also ready for the festival, which has been named Palmesus Classics. Christine Dancke is the host, and is looking forward to the evening.
– I cried from song two at the dress rehearsal and several times along the way because I was completely knocked to the ground by how raw this is! This is something I have really missed, so the joy is enormous to say the least, Dancke writes in an SMS.
All major festivals have been canceled: – A heavy day
The concept is inspired by Pete Tong’s “Ibiza Classics” as Tong did with BBC Radio 1 and The Royal British Heritage Orchestra. The artists will perform 20 big hits from the last 20 years in front of orchestra, choir and band. All songs are arranged and adapted by the Swedish composer Hans Ek.
– Since the pandemic came to Norway, we have worked for a full machine with new concepts. Palmesus Classics is a result of this work, and it is a pleasure to be able to invest in the different year 2020 where uncertainty reigns, says festival director Leif Fosselie in a press release.

This summer, artists such as Armin van Buuren, A $ AP Rocky, David Guetta and Khalid should have taken over Bystranda, but like all other festivals, Palmesus was also canceled earlier this summer due to the corona eruption.
Due to infection control measures, only 200 tickets will be sold.
The festival collaborates with Kilden Theater and Concert Hall, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra and Sørlandets Kunstmuseum.
