Corinthians may have a chair dance soon in the goal. And, despite Walter’s good performance against Athletico Paranaense, the possibility is given since both archers, Cássio and Walter, are hanging.
Both the holder and the reserve account for two yellow cards each. Walter, who started in the last game, ended up yellowed for delaying the start of the game. That card joined the warning suffered by the goalkeeper in the duel against Fluminense – first squad game without Tiago Nunes. At that time, Walter was on the bench and addressed the fourth referee “protesting sharply against the arbitration decisions”.
Goalkeeper Cássio did not play last Wednesday due to the expulsion suffered after the defeat to Ceará. The red card was applied directly, with the game already finished and, therefore, the yellow that resulted in the penalty was maintained.
Like this, Cássio continues with two yellow cards, both employed after the penalty shootout against Timão. In front of Ceará, the archer was yellowed for “putting his opponent out of the ball dispute, preventing a promising attack”. Against Sport, in the previous round, the warning was for “addressing the refereeing team to complain about the criteria adopted by the VAR”.
For the duel this Sunday, at 16h, against Flamengo, both athletes are free to go to the field at Neo Química Arena. Corinthians trained last Friday and can enter with: Walter (Cássio); Fagner, Marllon, Gil and Lucas Piton; Xavier, Camacho and Éderson; Mateus Vital, Léo Natel (Otero) and Boselli.
