‘D-Day’ of campaigns against polio, measles and multivaccination takes place this Saturday (17th) in all health units

This Saturday (17th) is the “D-Day” of vaccination campaigns against polio, measles and multivaccination. In Teresópolis all health units will be open from 8 am to 5 pm to serve the population. The action aims to immunize people who were unable to go to posts during the week. On Sunday there will still be a drive-tour in the Olympic Square (Center), from 9 am to 4 pm with vaccines for measles and polio.

Children under 5 years of age should be vaccinated against polio. The multivaccination happens so that children and adolescents up to 15 years old can update the vaccination booklet. Against Measles, everyone in the age group between 6 months to 59 years of age can be vaccinated. Reducing the risk of transmission of vaccine-preventable diseases is the main objective of the campaigns.

Remembering that everyone should attend health units wearing protective masks and following health safety protocols to minimize risks related to Covid-19. The Municipal Health Department reinforces that the campaign, which started on the 5th, continues until October 30th.
