The “D” Day of mobilization of the campaign against polio and multivaccination, of the City of Manaus, scheduled for this Saturday (17), will have 135 fixed posts and 200 steering wheels. The target audience are children and adolescents aged zero to 14 years, 11 months and 29 days.
The action will be from 8 am to 5 pm and the recommendation is for the vaccine card to be presented at the time of service. See addresses (click here).
According to the municipal secretary of Health, Marcelo Magaldi, the fixed posts will work in health units of the municipal network and the 200 steering posts will make an active search for vaccination of children and adolescents in places of great circulation of people, such as supermarkets and shopping malls.
In the campaign against polio, which started on the 5th of this month, all children aged one to four years should receive a dose of Oral Polio Vaccine (VOP). For children from two months to 11 months and 29 days, health professionals will evaluate the vaccination card and check the need for doses of Inactivated Polio Vaccine (VIP).
D-Day will also provide the following vaccines:
- BCG, which prevents tuberculosis;
- Pentavalent, against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B and the Haemophilus influenzae B virus;
- Rotavirus, against gastrointeritis;
- Pneumococcal 10, which protects pneumonia, meningitis and otitis;
- Meningococcal C;
- Meningococcal ACWY (for 11 and 12 year olds);
- Triple viral, which prevents measles, mumps and rubella;
- HPV vaccine;
- Hepatitis A;
- Double Adult, against diphtheria and tetanus;
- and Yellow Fever.
Girls and boys will be able to take advantage of Saturday’s mobilization for immunization against HPV (human papillomavirus), which is a virus that can cause cancer, such as cervical, vulva, vagina, penis, anus and oropharynx. The HPV vaccine is targeted at girls aged 9 to 14 and boys aged 11 to 14 years.
The campaign continues in Manaus until October 30.
