The asteroid, however, is not large enough to destroy our planet.

247 – American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson posted on his Twitter last Saturday (17) a kind of alert for the population of Planet Earth. According to him, an asteroid could hit Earth the day before the US elections, scheduled for November 3.

THE Tweet says: “The asteroid 2018VP1, a space rock the size of a refrigerator, can hit us at more than 40,000 km / h. It may collide with Earth on November 2, the day before the presidential elections. It is not big enough to cause damage. So, if the world ends in 2020, the Universe will not be to blame ”.

When asked by an Internet user whether there are plans to save humanity if events of this type on a larger scale occur, Tyson I said no. In fact, we have plans, but none of them are funded ”.

In the next Thursday (22), another asteroid, the 220TGI, is predicted to approach Earth. This is much bigger than the 2018VP1, having between 43 and 100 meters.
