DF records 12 deaths and 802 new cases in 24 hours

The Health Secretariat reported that on Wednesday (10/21), 12 deaths from the new coronavirus and 802 new cases were confirmed in the Federal District within 24 hours. With the update, there are 3,587 deaths from the covid-19 and the total number of infected people reaches 207,067. Currently, 6,159 people face the disease in the Federal District and 95.3% of people are recovered.

The deaths recorded today occurred between September 8 and October 21. The victims were composed of seven men and five women – eight were over 60 years old. In addition, 10 victims had other comorbidities, such as metabolic disorders and heart disease.

The lethality of the disease in the Federal District is 1.7, but it varies between administrative regions. Ceilandia, the city with the highest number of cases (25,576) has a lethality of 2.5. Taguatinga is in second place in number of diagnoses (17,172) – with a lethality of 2.1 -, followed by Plano Piloto (16.438), where the lethality is 1.5.
