The Department of Health (SES-DF) confirmed 22 more deaths due to covid-19, this Wednesday (10/14), and 828 new cases of the disease in the last 24 hours. With the records, the Federal District has recorded 3,488 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic and 202,058 positive diagnoses. Of this total, 6,115 cases are active and 192,455 patients recovered. The data includes information from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP-DF).
The deaths reported in the most recent bulletin occurred between July 2 and October 13. Most of the victims were men (12), people over 60 (16) and patients with other diseases (20). All deaths occurred in hospitals in the Federal District, and two of the victims lived in the surroundings.
Ceilandia is still the city with the most cases of covid-19 (24,978). Taguatinga is second in number of registrations (16,759), followed by Plano Piloto (15,976) and Samambaia (12,950). Ceilândia is also the administrative region with the highest mortality rate from the disease (2.5) – the same index as Santa Maria and Recanto das Emas.
Released this Wednesday (10/14), a study by the University of Brasília (UnB) showed that there was an increase in the reproduction rate of the new coronavirus in Itapoã, Paranoá, Pôr do Sol, Varjão, Estrutural and Sobradinho 2. These regions presented indexes above 1, which indicates an increase in the epidemic.
