There are 27 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) of this Monday, 26 October, which has just been released.
According to DGS figures, the Algarve now has 2496 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of deaths recorded in the bulletin remains at 25.
The same does not happen in Alentejo, which, according to today’s bulletin, has one more death (total of 37) and 24 new cases.
The number of new infections at the national level amounts to 2447, a number slightly lower than this Sunday’s data (2577).
The North was once again the region with the greatest increase in cases (1633), and since the beginning of the pandemic it has already added 51,932 infections.
Even so, the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, which had 580 new cases, remains the one with the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic: 53,412.
The Center, which has already registered 10,118 infections in cumulative numbers, has 167 more cases, Madeira plus 11 and the Azores more 5.
The number of recoveries was over a thousand (1,079), but taking into account the number of new infections, there are 1,341 more active cases across the country.
With regard to deaths, 27 more were recorded across the country, bringing the total, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 2342.
13 of the deaths recorded today were recorded in the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley, which totals 940 since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the North, there are 8 more victims to mourn, bringing the accumulated number to 1030. In the Center, 5 more people died and the accumulated total is 296 deaths.
The number of people hospitalized has increased, according to DGS, and there are now 1672 in hospitals (+98). The number of patients in Intensive Care Units has also risen to 240 (+10).
There are currently 59,631 surveillance contacts, 882 more than the previous day.
