Donald Trump to build golf course in Scotland despite criticism from environmentalists

Plans for a new 18-hole golf course were approved by the Aberdeen council, although several residents opposed the project, pointing to the loss of public space and the impact it would have on water supplies, private roads and nearby properties .

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency also objected, saying the water management plan was inadequate, as was the environmental management plan.

The camp will be named MacLeod, after Donald Trump’s mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, and will be built alongside its current Menie Estate camp.

The American president also owns the Turnberry golf course in southwest Scotland.
