After news of a film shot in space starring none other than Tom Cruise, Elon Musk will now also be portrayed on the screens. According to Variety, HBO is developing a miniseries about SpaceX, the space company founded by the executive.
The plot will be an adaptation of the book Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future, written by Ashlee Vance. Composed of six episodes whose duration has not yet been released, the miniseries will document how Musk dedicates his life to making humanity a multiplanetary species, from the moment the team was formed to build the first SpaceX rocket, to the present day of the company revolutionizing the aerospace industry with reusable rockets and manned spaceships beyond modern.
Doug Jun, de Star Trek Beyond signs the script and is part of the team of executive producers. Actor Channing Tatum also enters production through the Free Association company, with Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Vance and Len Amato. Michael Parets (The arrival, Hunger for Power) will oversee the project.
Being under development by HBO, it is suspected that the production, still without an official name, will be part of the catalog of HBO Max, the company’s streaming service that competes directly with Netflix and Disney +, in addition to having recently announced the exclusivity of all seasons Friends e Fresh prince of Bel Air in the catalog. HBO Max has not yet arrived in Brazil and has no availability forecast here.
There is still no information about Elon Musk’s involvement in the miniseries, nor details about the cast or forecast for the start of filming.
