The share of direct sales in the general composition of the Brazilian market advanced again in September. According to Fenabrave, of the 198,792 cars and light commercial vehicles registered last month, 45.84% were through the modality – in July, for example, this participation was 41.92%.

After three consecutive months at the top among automakers, VW (19.91%) was surpassed by Fiat (27.79%), vice-leader in the same period. With Chevrolet (11.64%) and Jeep (10.48%) repeating the same positions as in July and August – GM’s performance in the modality in recent months helps to explain its overall decline – Renault (6.84% ) returned to the top 5.

Leader among automobiles for the 2nd consecutive month and in the accumulated result for the year, the VW Gol (7,082) had almost 80% of the records in the modality. The Jeep duo, Compass (5,064) and Renegade (4,476), both above 77%, completed the podium. Behind the Fiat Argo (3,792), the Chevrolet Tracker (3,282) secured three SUVs / crossovers in the top 5, one less than in the previous two months.

Preferred in July and 2nd in August, the VW T-Cross (2,665) fell to 8th, surpassed by Fiat Uno (3,214) – with almost 97% of its records – and Mobi (2,821). 10th, the VW Voyage (2,354) was again the preferred sedan. With Ford’s decision not to sell to rental companies, the Ka (1,972) was only the 12th, behind a Chevrolet Onix (2,149) that did not reach 20% of records by direct sales.

The newcomer Ford Territory (262), above 70% of representativeness, was ahead of the Renault Captur (258). Only representative of premium brands in the top 50 in previous months, this time the Volvo XC60 (187) had the company of the Audi Q3 (173), both with more than 55% of their records. Showing that its strength is even in retail, the Honda Civic (183) was the only one on the list of cars below 10%.
