Those who tried to do a free test to detect Covid-19, this Sunday (25), at the Convention Center, in Olinda, in Greater Recife, had to face long lines of cars and hours of waiting for assistance. At the site, people are served in the drive-thru system, when it is not necessary to leave the vehicle, and can also seek conventional service (see video above).
Videos uploaded to WhatsApp from TV Globo they showed a long line of cars at one of the gates to the Convention Center. In the images, it was possible to observe the large number of vehicles waiting to enter the area where the tests are carried out.
A resident of Piedade, in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, also in Greater Recife, Andréa Lisboa took her daughter, a 16-year-old teenager, to take the test.
She was suspecting that the girl had contracted the disease and needed the test result to take it to the school where the girl is studying. She said she tried to take the exam on Saturday (24) and also failed.
“On Sunday, we arrived at 10:30 am and now it is past 12:35 pm and I have no prospect of being served. They said the system is in trouble, ”he said.

According to Andrea, in addition to the delay, the people in the queue complained about the lack of organization. “Only the guards are answering and the information passed on was missing,” he said.
Hospital worker, Lúcia Souza arrived at the Convention Center shortly after 11 am on Sunday. Until 1:30 pm, she had not been attended.
“I have a relative who is hospitalized with Covid-19 and I cannot go back to work in a hospital without knowing if I am ill. I had contact with her and I’m scared, ”he said.
Lucia said that when she arrived at the test site, she counted 35 cars in the service area and at least 50 outside the Convention Center.
“It is very humiliating for those in need. We are not here for fun. It is a health issue ”, he declared.
Through a note, the State Department of Health (SES-PE) reported that, since the beginning of the pandemic, it has expanded its capacity for processing molecular biology tests (RT-PCR), considered the gold standard for this type of disease.
SES also said that “it has constantly reinforced strategies to guarantee access to testing, which can be done by all Pernambucans who have symptoms of the disease, even if mild, or those who have had contact with confirmed cases, even though they are asymptomatic” .
According to the government, to take the exam, the population can access Atende em Casa. In all, 146 municipalities adhered to this type of appointment, with a scheduled date and time.
In the note, the secretariat informed that there are four testing centers under state management. Among them is that of the Pernambuco Convention Center.
Also according to the state, since the beginning of July, the population can also spontaneously go to the Covid-19 testing outpost at the Pernambuco Supply and Logistics Center (Ceasa). The place is open from Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3 pm.
At the Training Center for Servants and Public Employees of the State of Pernambuco (Cefospe), in the Boa Vista district, Recife, the appointment is made by Atende em Casa.
For education professionals and their contacts in the work and home environment, there is a testing center at the headquarters of the Pernambuco Department of Education and Sports, at Avenida Afonso Olindense, 1513, in Várzea, West Zone in Recife. The center is open from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 3 pm. Scheduling is at Atende em Casa.
The secretariat informed that all of its testing centers carry out RT-PCR exams, indicated for those who have flu-like symptoms until the seventh day of the onset of the condition, but can be extended until the tenth day, if the symptoms persist. symptoms.
The rapid test is also offered for cases where the patient has been more than seven days from the onset of symptoms and also more than 72 hours since the symptoms disappeared. These are also offered by municipal networks.
Drive thru testing at the Convention Center reinforces fight against Covid-19 in Pernambuco
The test drive for Covid-19 in the drive-thru model started operating at the Convention Center on September 22. The structure works every day of the week, including Saturdays and Sundays, from 8 am to 5 pm (see video above).

According to the State Department of Health (SES-PE), the result of the rapid test comes out in up to 15 minutes. The result of the RT-PCR is sent by e-mail or made available on site for pickup.
