They also agree that Chauvin redeemed the bail on Wednesday.
Despite the fact that he has been released, he must still appear in court if an indictment is issued. According to NBC News, the trial is expected to start in March next year.
All four police officers who were present during the brutal arrest in Minneapolis in May have thus been released. Everyone was fired the next day. Chauvin is charged with premeditated murder, while J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao are all charged with complicity in the murder.
It was Chauvin who pressed his knee against Floyd’s neck for several minutes so that he stopped breathing. He was pronounced dead the same day.
The killing led to large-scale demonstrations and riots in a number of American cities, and George Floyd has become an important symbol of the Black Life Matter movement.
