Health confirms five more deaths from covid-19, one from a 38-year-old man


The Municipal Health Department confirmed on Friday (23) five more deaths by covid-19. The patients, aged between 38 and 91 years, were admitted to hospital units in the municipality, and died between the 2nd and 22nd of October. In all, 262 people have died from the disease in Petrópolis since March.

The first confirmation is from a 67 year old woman, resident of Chácara Flora. She was admitted on October 3 at the Hospital Alcides Carneiro (HAC) and died on the 5th. The patient had diabetes. The second patient is a 63-year-old man, resident of Bingen. He was admitted to the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Hospital (HNSA) on 9 September and died on 16 October. The third recorded death was of a 47-year-old woman, also a resident of Chácara Flora. She was admitted to the Nelson de Sá Earp Municipal Hospital (HMNSE) on October 8 and died on the 22. The patient had diabetes and obesity.

A 91-year-old man, resident of Samambaia, also suffered from the disease. He was admitted to the HNSA on September 19 and died on October 2. The patient had high blood pressure. The last confirmed death was that of a 38-year-old Morin resident. He was also admitted to the HNSA on September 25 and died on October 11.

According to the epidemiological bulletin, 68,562 tests were carried out in the city. Of this total, 7,751 were positive, 60,563 were negative and 248 are being analyzed, between PCR and rapid tests. There are 44 patients hospitalized in the city, which may be positive cases or still under investigation waiting for the test result. 26 of them in intensive care unit (ICU) beds and 18 in medical clinic beds. Today the municipality accounts for 14.81% of clinical beds and 25.84% of ICUs occupied by patients infected with coronavirus by SUS.

The Health Department says that 5,930 people have recovered from the coronavirus. This number refers to people who were hospitalized in hospital units in the city or who remained in isolation at home and who, today, no longer have the main symptoms of the disease.
