Home office regime affects 45.6% of those who work at a distance


According to a study by Fudação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), 45.6% of workers home office has been in a mood affected by the pandemic. On this subject, the National afternoon talked to Alberto José Ogata, a researcher at FGV Saúde and author of the study.

“What we realized is that more than 80% of the people who started working at home did it not because they wanted to, but because the quarantine forced them to work at home”, explains Alberto. “Without any preparation, the companies did not offer any equipment, did not evaluate their space at work, simply put them working at home” According to him, the consequences were back pain, neck pain, sleep problems, migraines or changes in mood. “What was observed is that many had these symptoms occurred, when the perception of quality of life was poor”, he reports.

This is the second report made by the Center for Studies in Health Planning and Management at FGV EAESP (FGV Saúde), in partnership with the Institute of Employment Studies (IES), in the United Kingdom, to assess the impacts of remote work on health and well-being of Brazilians during the pandemic.
