Viktor Hovland settled for a shared 20th place in the PGA tournament in Las Vegas on Friday night.
The Norwegian golf star had a weak opening on the Shadow Creek course and was in 55th place after the first day, but delivered a great round at the PGA tournament on Friday and hit 35 places on the results list.
With five birdies and one eagle, the Norwegian performed much better than the somewhat troubled start of the tournament and completed with 66 strokes, three under par.
It did start with a bogey on the first hole, but then it went much better, and the 23-year-old ended up with six under par and thus played up from three strokes over par to three strokes below.
Hovland started on hole 10 and played the second half first. There is no cut in the tournament so all players can play four rounds.
American Xander Schauffele leads the tournament after the second day with 14 strokes under par, after a 64-round Friday.
Britain’s Tyrrell Hatton, who led after the first day, is in second place with 11 strokes under par.
