During Episode 4 of Night City Wire, digital event of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red confirmed that players will be able to steal any vehicle in the game, but they will not be part of the player’s car collection, similar to what we see in GTA V.
To have cars in your garage, you will need to talk to a salesperson and buy them. That way, players will be able to invoke automobiles at any time, customize them and have unique versions of these vehicles (with paintings, distinct handling and much more). You can check the information in the video below at the 6:54 mark:
However, if you just want to try some other car or motorcycle, nothing prevents the player from finding one of them in the city of Night City and stealing it to go for a walk in the streets (well, the police can prevent it, but that’s another matter). The disadvantages are that these cars cannot be added to the personal garage, personalized or invoked at any time: as soon as you drop a car, it will be there – just like we see in GTA.
Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia on November 19, 2020. The Xbox Series X / S and PS5 versions will only arrive in 2021, but the game will be backwards compatible at the console launch.
