Who explains everything is the game director!
Mortal Kombat 11 brought several changes to the franchise, but one that did not please fans was the cast of fighters. The internet cried out for the return of classic characters, with Mileena, but according to the director Ed Boon, its absence was a calculated risk.
According to Boon (via CB), the developers handled the release of Mileena on purpose. Boon never underestimated the character’s importance, but he thought it best to wait. He trusted her potential and imagined that with less competition, she would have a better chance of shining.
“You know, Mileena was one of the first characters created for the Mortal Kombat 1 e 2. On one side you had Scorpion and Sub-Zero and on the other side Mileena and Kitana. They became classic opponents in the franchise, so we continued their story, but we chose to pause Mileena’s a little to create a greater appreciation. We didn’t expect the response to be so intense. ”
Knowing that Mileena was in the company’s launch plans, Boon began to show signs of her addition on social media, in an attempt to appease the ire of fans.
“I wouldn’t have wound it up if I wasn’t sure she was going to show up. We played with that a little. ”
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is available for all consoles of that generation. An enhanced version will be released to Xbox Series X|S e PlayStation 5 in day November 17.
