The Norwegians on firing squad
The Norwegian guys are in every way involved after the first round of the giant slalom opening in Sölden. Henrik Kristoffersen is in a strong 3rd place, only ten hundredths behind leading Gino Caviezel, while Lucas Braathen (24/100 behind) is number five and Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen (42/100 behind).
Kristoffersen believes it is entirely possible to improve the position in the second half.
– More is possible. 3rd place and a tenth behind is more than approved. I just have to dry in the hang in the 2nd round. That is what this is about, he says to TV 2.
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde started well in the first round, but was unlucky and lost the ski.
– It was really sour. I was ready to drive fast today. I did not gamble, but I gave gas. You have to if you want to keep up with that sport here, says the reigning World Cup winner overall to TV 2.
Fabian Wilkens is number 26 after the first half and thus also gets to drive the second. Patrick Haugen Veisten, Atle Lie McGrath and Timon Haugan failed to qualify for the second round.
