The Jury Tribunal of Salto do Lontra, in the Southwest of Paraná, this week sentenced a couple denounced by the Paraná Public Ministry (MPPR) for the death of three newborn children in 2010, 2013 and 2016.
The complaint was filed in January 2017 by the District Attorney’s Office and also pointed out the crime of hiding a corpse.
The mother, Marli Cavalheiro Risso, was accused of materially executing the crimes, and her father, Laudecir Aguiar, known for “Any”, to instigate, adjust and determine criminal practice, as both did not want to have more children.
According to the complaint, Marli hid her pregnancies and was negligent with prenatal care and, right after the birth of her children, she killed the children in co-authorship with their father. Before the three children murdered, the couple had five other children.
After the MPPR offered the criminal complaint, the two moved to another city, and in December 2018, the woman still gave birth to another child.
But, just as in previous pregnancies, the defendants decided to hide the pregnancy and neglected medical care, which led the safety net team to believe that the couple would commit the same violent acts against their son.
Through MPPR intervention, the child was sent to a substitute family, with the extinction of the biological parents’ family power.
Marli received a sentence of 63 years and 8 months in prison, while Laudecir was sentenced with 48 years and 4 months in prison, for having been acquitted of the first homicide.
According to what was found by the police and with substantiated facts, on December 27, 2010, at 5:30 pm, Marli had a boy, at the Polyclinic of Nova Prata do Iguaçu-PR, but the child disappeared.
In this case, she denied her husband’s involvement in the concealment, and the police believe the child was killed and the body was hidden.
On September 26, 2013 Marli gave birth to a baby girl at the Nossa Senhora de Fátima hospital in Salto do Lontra-PR. The child was born healthy and she was discharged on the 28th.
Marli confessed that, with the help of Laudecir, they would have asphyxiated the child and buried the body in a pit at the back of the house.
The facts only came to light after the discovery of the last crime, which occurred in December 2016, when Marli was arrested after killing her son, who was born with 3.3 kg, by suffocation.
The baby was found by the police in one of the rooms of the family home. At the time she confessed to the other murders.
