President Jair Bolsonaro signed the law that expands the use of Caixa’s digital social savings to pay other government social benefits. Therefore, users can also receive the salary credit and the Time of Service Guarantee Fund (FGTS), for example, through the Caixa Tem application. Until then, the platform was used only by beneficiaries of emergency aid and emergency FGTS.
The project, sanctioned without vetoes, also establishes other changes regarding Caixa’s digital social savings. From now on, Caixa will have to issue a physical card for the user, which was not foreseen before. The user will also be able to make three electronic transfers (TED’s) per month free of charge.
In addition, the account will have a movement limit up to R $ 5,000 per month. The text also establishes that the bank will not be able to charge fees for maintaining the account, nor to issue checks by the insured accounts.
It is worth mentioning that digital social savings may receive deposits of social benefits paid by the Union, states and municipalities. Except those of a social security nature, such as retirement and sickness benefits. The interested citizen must authorize the opening of this type of account, or the use of an existing one in his name.
Even Caixa will make a consultation tool available to the beneficiary on the website and the application. Thus, it will be possible to check if there is an account opened in your name, by consulting the CPF. Finally, it is important to note that the customer can close or convert to a regular account at any time and without additional costs.
