Osasco broke Sesi-Bauru’s unbeaten record in the Campeonato Paulista by winning, at home, by 3 sets to 2 (partial 25/15, 21/25, 25/18, 18/25 and 16/14) the first match of the decision . Now the Osasquense team can win the 15th state title for the city next Tuesday, in Bauru. This Saturday night, at the José Liberatti gymnasium, the two teams alternated between good and bad times, but the great performance of the opposite Tandara, the highest scorer of the game with 23 points, weighed in favor of the hosts.
With the result, Sesi-Bauru can no longer repeat the campaign for the 2018 São Paulo title, when they were undefeated champions, with nine wins in nine games, beating Osasco in the final. The team of Greater São Paulo, vice in the last two years, may even lose the game next Tuesday, at 21.30, with broadcast of SporTV 2, at the Panela de Pressure gymnasium, in the interior of São Paulo, as long as the Golden Set wins next. Sesi-Bauru remains to win the game and the Golden Set to achieve the second state title in its history.
Osasco 3 x 2 Sesi / Bauru final points for the 1st game of the Paulista Women’s Volleyball final
Sesi-Bauru arrived undefeated in the decision against Osasco, losing only one set in seven games. On that account, however, it only took 21 minutes to lose the second set in the competition. Osasco started the game much better and opened 8 to 2, thanks to Sesi’s mistakes. The team from Bauru managed to balance the game with collaboration also from the mistakes of Osasquenses. But in those mistakes (10 mistakes out of 5), Osasco managed to make better use of the first bad set of the two main rival strikers: Tiffany was the target of the homeowners’ loot, he couldn’t even pass or attack well. Polina Rahimova, on the other hand, did not respond when she was fired on balls that the team expected her to turn. Tandara and Tainara lived up to expectations. In the end, ten points ahead in the first set: 25/15.
In the second set it seems that Sesi players finally covered the more than 300 kilometers that separate Bauru from Osasco and reached the final. Tiffany and Rahimova became decisive in the attack and confidence returned to the visitors’ court, from the serve to the block. With the two teams, after all, on the court with all their strength, the long-awaited duels began. Confrontation between athletes with passages in the Brazilian team and that may be worth, in the future, even a place in the Tokyo Olympics. Roberta x Dani Lins in the survey, Bia x Adenízia in the middle, Jaque x Suelle in the game volume … In addition to a duel that may also happen in the next Olympic Games, between Camila Brait and the Dominican Brenda Castillo, who has already been elected to best libero in the world (the selection of the Dominican Republic will be in the group of Brazil in Tokyo). All this lap to say that the second set was at a high level and well disputed, this time with the victory of Sesi-Bauru by 25/21.
Coaches Luizomar de Moura, from Osasco, and Anderson Rodrigues, from Bauru, certainly got angry, again, at the beginning of the third set with the mistakes of their teams. And in a duel full of stars, supporting players like the central Mayany, of the home team, stood out in important points of the third set. Anderson still tried to put the visitors back in the game by moving the team, but the reserves on the court, even with good performances, did not make Sesi-Bauru reduce the difference that Osasco opened in the middle of the set. Tiffany and Rahimova’s power was lacking. And Osasco won another set (25/18). It was a totally different game than Bauru’s 3-0 win over Osasco less than a month ago in the qualifying round.
Fourth set started with the setters betting on the confidence balls: Roberta called Tandara to close the game, while Dani Lins split between Tiffany and Rahimova. And almost everything went wrong for the housewives. The confidence of Paulista’s only undefeated team was extremely high. It was Luizomar’s turn to try to change the game with the entry of some of his reserves. It did not have much effect because Bauru was already opening a good distance on the scoreboard. A seesaw with each team playing a set well, alternately. And the match went to the tie-break after the 25/18 for Sesi.
The fifth and decisive set had Osasco opening the scoring early on, and Bauru recovering. Osasco opening again, and Bauru had the breath to reach the housewives again. So the last points were with hearts in hands. Point to point. Voltage. And Tandara made the turning point: 16 to 14.
The last and decisive match will be on Tuesday, at 21.30, in the Panela de Pressure gymnasium, in Bauru, with transmission by SporTV 2. In case of Osasco’s victory, the title will be decided in the golden set, that is, a sixth set that goes up to 25 points.
