The first day of Palmeiras without a coach was one of internal debates to define a profile that the club believes is necessary from now on. And that may also represent the possibility of a new philosophy of play for the team that until Wednesday was led by Vanderlei Luxemburgo.
Names like Guto Ferreira, currently in Ceará, and Spanish Miguel Ángel Ramírez, from Independiente Del Valle, Ecuador, are some of those evaluated by palmeirenses at this moment.
Ramírez has been on the radar since last year. The Spaniard had his name discussed after the failure to negotiate with Jorge Sampaoli, but Verdão decided at that time to advance in the hiring of Vanderlei Luxemburgo. Now the club has returned to seeking information from the Spanish market.

At Palmeiras, the discourse is that the priority is to replace Luxa’s work with that of a coach who has a more intense game concept – and thus achieve a more lasting project for his football.
That was also why Guto Ferreira’s name was taken to Verdão, due to the style of play that prioritizes speed and the characteristic of working with the base, as reported by Nosso Palestra. But a palmeirense wing defends the preference for a foreign bet.

Speculated as a possible candidate, Uruguayan Gustavo Munua, who left the National of Montevideo, told the give not have been sought by palmeirenses.
– No one from Palmeiras called me at the moment. It would be a good challenge and a great club, which has demanding and important goals, that motivates me. I would be delighted, I like these great challenges – said Munua.
The matter of choosing the new coach is treated as a priority by the board of Verdão, but should not be finalized this week. On Sunday, Andrey Lopes leads the team against Fortaleza, in Castelão, and has a chance to continue preparing the team for the game against Tigre, on Wednesday, for the last round of the Libertadores group stage.
