Ole Gunnar Solskjær (47) admits that Manchester United has had a bad start to the season, but closes his ears to criticism from the outside.
Recently, the star Bruno Fernandes went out and denied that according to some British media he should be dissatisfied with his Norwegian manager.
On Friday, Solskjær praised the player for the statements.
– We know that people try to create divisions from the outside at every opportunity. Bruno spoke well the other day. We stand together and must continue like this, we can not listen to everyone on the outside, we must move on. Bruno has lost two league games, he came here in February and the losses have come quickly in a row. He is not used to losing league games, but welcome to Manchester United, this is what happens. People try to create divisions between us, but it will not happen. This is a squad that will work together and stay together, says Solskjær.
Bruno Fernandes rejects Solskjær conflict – annoyed by the British press
Manchester United stand with only three points after three league games in the Premier League. On Saturday, they meet Newcastle away in a situation where Solskjær is probably under greater pressure than ever in the manager’s chair.
– We know that we have started the season badly. That match (1-6 against Tottenham) ended really badly, we started well, but could not keep up after we got an expulsion, says Solskjær and continues:
– We know we have to perform better, but now we have had two weeks to think about it and work on it.
Captain Harry Maguire has received strong criticism after a weak start to the season which was topped by an early expulsion for England this week.
– That’s how football is. It goes up and down, and you have to live with that. Harry knows that he will fight back, says Solskjær.
United signed three players at the end of the transfer window: Alex Telles, Edinson Cavani and Facundo Pellistri. The former arrived in Manchester on Thursday after a long flight from Brazil, Cavani is currently not available due to the quarantine, while Pellistri is currently considered too young to be a significant part of the first team.
