Pregnant woman in an accident in Oslo – to hospital in ambulance with birth in progress – VG

Whether the birth was in progress when the collision in the Carl Berner roundabout in Oslo took place, or the traffic accident started the birth, is unclear.

– The woman, who is nine months pregnant, is transported to Ullevål University Hospital by ambulance, says operations manager Christian Krohn Engeseth to VG.

The traffic accident was a rear-end collision.

– What we know is that this is a collision without personal injuries, with little speed, small material damage, says Krohn Engeseth.

The police do not know if they were on their way to the hospital. It was ambulance people who came to the place who thought that the birth was underway.

– She felt discomfort in connection with the collision, and the ambulance assessed that the birth was underway and transported her to Ullevål hospital, Engseth says to NTB.
