Corinthians is getting closer and closer to gaining reinforcement for one of the most needy sectors of its squad. Promoted after a good performance in the U-20, defender Raul Gustavo finished a long suspension this Sunday and depends only on the physical part to be available to Vagner Mancini already on Wednesday, against Vasco.
The young defender was serving a ten-game penalty for assaulting Flamengo’s goalkeeper Hugo in the Brasileirão U-20 last year – the pair almost met again this Sunday, but Timão chose not to enter with suspensive effect due to the injury of the athlete.
For the past few days, Raul has been working with the club’s physiotherapists to treat ankle problems. The club did not confirm the stage of recovery and neither the period for the defender to be able to enter the field for the first time with the professional team. In photos, however, you can already see him running on the lawn.
When he is ready, Raul will join Gil, Méndez and Marllon as options for Mancini in the defense. In addition to the quartet, the alvinegro cast has Léo Santos and Danilo Avelar, but the duo deals with injury and will continue to be embezzlement in the coming months.
Contracted for the Corinthians base last year, Raul quickly won the title and went on to convince. Left-footed at the beginning of his career, the southpaw stands out for his good ball output.
