Now that “Keeping up with the Kardashians” is soon approaching its final season, Khloé Kardashian (36) opens up about her time before the great reality success.
The Good American founder talks about his previous assistant job in the latest episode of the podcast “Emergency Contact”, together with his friend Malika Haqq (37).
She was in fact an assistant to none other than Nicole Richie (39) before the reality series took off.
She gets into the topic as she explains about her first encounter with the podcast’s host, Simon Huck (36).
– I was Nicole Richie’s assistant, and you were Jonathan Chebans (a good friend of Kim Kardashian, journ.anm.) Assistant, Kardashian explains.
She also jokes about how much her appearance – which is constantly making headlines – has changed since then:
– We met about five faces ago. “I do not know if you remember me because there were so many faces ago,” the reality star told Huck.
Including TooFab has mentioned the podcast episode.
Kardashian further explains that Richie is a childhood friend, and that she “needed some help” at the time. As children, they went to the same school, and they were very close to each other throughout their upbringing.
– She was one of my best friends growing up and we were very, very close to each other, says the “KUWTK” star in the podcast.
She explains that she got the job at the time when Nicole Richie was in the reality series “The Simple Life” with Paris Hilton (39).
– I think it was towards the end of “The Simple Life” – she just needed a little help and I needed a job, Kardashian explains.
She does not quite remember which year she was Richie’s assistant, but points out that the assistant job did not last too long.
Do not plan your reality career
In the podcast episode, the star also shares details from when the “Keeping up with the Kardahians” success began. She admits that she had never thought about participating in a reality series before the start of “KUWTK”.
– I did not think about it, and I think it’s nice about it, says the youngest Kardashian sister.
Her older sisters, Kourtney (41) and Kim Kardashian (39), had previous experiences with reality. The former starred in the reality series “Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive” (2005), while Kim actually appeared as the assistant to Paris in several episodes of “The Simple Life”.
– Did not think the series would last
Khloé Kardashian explains in the podcast that there was little pressure and expectations associated with the family’s reality series, as they did not think the series would be anything big.
– We were told that we were a “show filler”, and that we should not be too comfortable, she says about the beginning of the series.
When the podcast host asks about the moment they realized that the series was a “cultural phenomenon”, Kardashian replies that it was after season 3 – when she and Kourtney recorded the spinoff series “Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami”. It was at this point that they began to feel the pressure from paparazzi photographers and fans, she says.
Settle with the criticism
It’s no secret that the Kardashian clan is happy to change its appearance, but lately Khloé Kardashian has heard from fans that she is completely unrecognizable.
The reality star has received a lot of attention for how she chooses to put on make-up and retouch her photos, and has, among other things, been accused of imitating Beyoncé (39) in a new advertising campaign.
“New month, new face” writes a Twitter user about Kardashian’s appearance recently.
“Beyoncé cosplay” describes the website Insider as. She is thus also accused of so-called “black-fishing”, a term that deals with white women who try to change their appearance in the direction of more African descent.
But this is not the first time she has been accused of looking like another person. In an Instagram photo with his daughter True (2), fans wonder who is sitting next to the two-year-old.
The 36-year-old has not commented directly on the criticism, but this message she has written on Twitter is possibly aimed at those who criticize her over a low shoe. To his 28 million followers, the reality star writes:
I’ll never understand how bored or unhappy some people can be. I am someone who would never comment something unless it’s positive. I believe in uplifting and complimenting one another. Who has the time chiiiillllldddd?! Time is precious boo. I’m spending it on happy things ❤️
