On the return of Formula 1 to Imola after 14 years, a name could not be forgotten: Ayrton Senna – the Brazilian lost his life on the Italian circuit on May 1, 1994. The F-1 holds the Emilia-Romagna GP in next Sunday (1st).
The three-time world champion received several honors from pilots and teams today. The hashtag #SennaSempre was used in publications with photos of the pilot’s statue, erected near the accident site.
Lewis Hamilton, who will make his circuit debut in an F-1 race, said it was touching to be on the track where Senna died. Pierre Gasly, from Alpha Tauri, will honor the Brazilian with a helmet during the Grand Prix.
