With less than a month to go, we’re happy to share our first preview of the user experience on the PlayStation 5 console. The new user experience (UX) is completely player-focused – to provide a true next generation experience, more immersive and that quickly connects you with great games and our passionate gamer community.

We believe that your playing time is precious, and it must be meaningful, and all the news that we are delivering are inspired by this concept and this vision. The new UX features a number of features designed to make your gaming experience more fun, attractive, personalized and social.

One of the highlights is the new Control Center, which provides immediate access to almost everything you need from the system, just pressing the PlayStation button on your DualSense controller – all without leaving the game.

We also have another novelty, called Activities, created to bring you closer to the key elements of gameplay. Activities are shown as cards on the screen by the Control Center, allowing you to discover new gameplay opportunities, go back to things you have left behind, go straight through stages or challenges you want to complete, and more. Some Activity cards can be placed in picture-in-picture mode, so you can see them without having to leave the game.

Navigating the interface, changing games and taking part in online matches happen quickly, as we have recreated the console’s software stack to be a true next generation experience. We think that the less time you spend interacting with the System, the more time you will have to enjoy your games.

PS5 UX

We want to preview the PS5 UX with our demo video, and we hope you enjoy the tour. Also, remember that this is a pre-production environment, so there may be some changes, but it will give you a taste of what to expect when the PS5 comes out in November.

We can’t wait until they can check out the PS5 next generation UX for themselves next month! Tell us what news you liked the most in the comments below!
