A history teacher was beheaded by the father of a student on his way out of the school where he was teaching, in the small town of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, about 30 km from Paris, the capital of France. The crime occurred on the afternoon of Friday (16).
According to the first information, the professor showed cartoons of Charlie Hebdo magazine that satirize Muhammad in a class on freedom of expression and therefore became the target of the attack.
When the police arrived at the school, they found the perpetrator beside the school building, knife in hand. When asked to put the blade on the ground, he refused and was shot by the agents.
The man, who was reportedly wearing an explosive vest, died at the scene. The school was evacuated so that the bomb squad could verify that it actually had bombs on its body.
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, went to the city to follow the progress of the case.
