Luiz Felipe Scolari is the new coach of Cruzeiro. The Belo Horizonte club confirmed this Thursday the hiring of the coach, 71 years old, who signed a contract valid until 2022.
After refusing the first proposal, Scolari agreed to return to the club he has coached for 20 years. He is the fourth coach of Cruzeiro this season after Adilson Batista, Enderson Moreira and Ney Franco, the latter fired last Sunday.
Felipão will try to ‘save’ Cruzeiro from relegation to the third level of Brazilian football. With 15 matches played in Serie B, Raposa occupies the penultimate place of the classification, with only 12 points.
The former coach of the Portuguese team has been out of work since leaving Palmeiras in September 2019, a club that had led to the title in the Brasileirão the previous season.
