The Family Health Units (USF) Lecir Nunes in Parque das Américas, Dona Aparecida in Parque São Geraldo, and Matrix Health Unit (UMS) Maria Tereza in the Lourdes neighborhood will carry out actions within the celebration of October Pink today. The three units of the Uberaba City Hall will respond from 7 am to 11 am this Saturday for Pap smear collections and mammography requests from women seeking services. The USF of Parque São Geraldo will also perform a rapid test for HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B and C.
Aline Tristão, head of the Primary Care Department of the Health Secretariat explains that on this day, there will be only the action focused on Pink October in the units, observing all the hygiene and social distance care due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “We will have more than one functioning room for collections, with all necessary sanitary regulations. It is important to emphasize that the woman must take personal documents, such as CPF and SUS card and wear a mask ”, highlights Aline.
The head of the SMS Primary Care Department emphasizes that the pap smear collection is aimed at women aged 25 to 64 years, while the mammography order is aimed at women aged 50 to 69, the target audience for this exam. “Women who are outside this age group, will also be able to perform the mammography exam, as long as they undergo medical care to assess the need for the request”, he explains.
Women only need to contact their referral unit in person, by phone, or with their community health worker, to make an appointment.
