It is in the podcast “Kant ut” that biathlon star Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (24) opens up about the feelings around a negative comment she received online.
Tandrevold and teammate Tiril Eckhoff are aware that they rarely read about themselves online. This time, however, the 24-year-old saw the comment during a clip of her, where she expresses disappointment over Sunday’s NM race.
According to the duo, the comment must have been about the weight of the World Cup silver winner from Östersund in 2019, and the person who wrote it, must have thought that the shooting would have gone better if she had lost weight.
– It hit me very hard. I have to be honest to say that I was really, really sorry, says Tandrevold in the podcast.
She gets full support from her friend, who has experienced similar things. She herself was provoked. Tarjei Bø is also said to have moved out and defended her teammate in the comments field.
– It is easy to say that people who write such things are online trolls, and that one should not care about it. But it is very easy to say if you have not experienced this directed at you. There and then I was not completely “on top of my game”, and it hit me very hard, she says.
The duo wonders why people do not think better before firing in the comments field.
– People think that we are public figures, but we have not chosen to be, it is not as if we have chosen to be bloggers. We have chosen to follow our dream of being a top athlete. […] What’s the point? Does writing such things make you happier? I do not understand the point.
Dagbladet has been in contact with Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold via the Biathlon Association. She has no further comment.
