With only 41% of children protected from polio, BH extends vaccination campaign – Horizons

Less than half of children are protected from polio in Belo Horizonte. The expectation was to vaccinate 109 thousand boys and girls up to 4 years old. However, only 45,000 were immunized. The low rate of coverage against polio and also measles motivated the extension of the multivaccination campaign in the capital.

The action, which would end this Friday (30), now runs until November 20. In the case of measles, only 10% of the target audience sought health facilities in the metropolis. The population to be vaccinated is about 1.1 million and, until October 27, only 119 thousand received the dose. The campaign is aimed at adults aged 20 to 49 years.

In addition to these immunizations, people should be aware of other doses. The vaccines available for updating the passbooks are: BCG, Pentavalent, Rotavirus, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Meningo C, Meningo ACWY, Pneumo 10, Triple Bacterial, Triple Viral, Varicella, Yellow Fever, HPV, Double Adult and Triple Bacterial type Adult .

These vaccines will be applied according to the individual need for immunization. It is essential that those responsible take the card to a professional conference.

Immunization is carried out in all Health Centers in Belo Horizonte. Click here and check the addresses and opening hours. According to the PBH, all sites remain open during the pandemic and several security measures have been adopted.

The spaces have separate entrances from other services. The use of masks is mandatory – less for children up to 2 years old.
