WWE NXT (14/10/2020): Damian Priest vs Dexter Lumis


WWE broadcast this Wednesday another edition of NXT on the USA Network, from the now called Capitol Wrestling Center, en route to Halloween Havoc at the end of the month and in direct competition with AEW Dynamite.

– Undisputed ERA (Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish) defeated Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch (Fight for the place of Nº1 Contenders to the NXT Tag Team Championships)
– Jake Atlas defeated Ashante “Thee” Adonis
– Johnny Gargano beat Austin Theory
– Candice LeRae won Shotzi Blackheart (Fight for the place of Nº1 Contender to the NXT Women’s Championship)
– Toni Storm defeated Aliyah
– Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner) venceram Drake Maverick & Killian Dain

The NXT opened with 3 of the 4 elements of the Undisputed ERA, missing Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly said that if they had put their hands on Ridge Holland he would now be in the same hospital where he ended up going. The former lead candidate also said that the second coming of the Undisputed ERA prophecy begins on this NXT.

– Undisputed ERA (Roderick Strong & Bobby Fish) venceram Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch: Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch’s duo controlled the opening match of this NXT for a few minutes, but Undisputed ERA managed to reverse the momentum and dominate the match for long minutes.

When Danny Burch entered the ring, the momentum of the fight turned which led us to a very balanced final minutes, but in the end, Undisputed ERA got the victory and so are the new main candidates for the NXT Tag Team Championships.

Then we had interviewer Mackenzie Mitchell talking about the situation of the operation on the jaw of NXT Champion Finn Bálor.

Soon afterwards we had Ember Moon in a video package talking about his injury and his recovery and how he wants to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

– Jake Atlas defeated Ashante “Thee” Adonis: The fight was quite balanced from the beginning and when it looked like Ashante Adonis was going to start having momentum on his side, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendonza appeared to distract him, Jake Atlas took advantage and with a small package and won the fight.

As soon as the match was over, Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendonza attacked Ashante Adonis, but Jake Atlas helped his opponent.

Then Santos Escobar came to attack the duo of Ashante Adonis and Jake Atlas, but “Swerve” Scott appeared to balance the numbers.

Following behind the scenes Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae were interviewed with “Poison Pixie” to assert themselves as the untitled champion. Johnny Gargano, on the other hand, was irritated that Dexter Lumis had a chance for the title, before saying that he will teach Austin Theory a lesson in Wrestling.

– Johnny Gargano beat Austin Theory: Johnny Gargano beat Austin Theory for several minutes, but the young fighter at great cost managed to reverse the momentum in his favor.

After a few minutes of dominance, Johnny Wrestling turned the fight in his favor and ended up winning with his Slingshot DDT.

Raquel Gonzalez no backstage he challenged Rhea Ripley to a match, but “Nightmare” appeared and challenged her and the two had to be separated.

– Candice LeRae defeated Shotzi Blackheart: Candice LeRae dominated this fight almost from the first minute, but it is already known that Shotzi Blackheart never gives up and the unorthodox fighter balanced this strife.

The match ended up being quite balanced with the two fighters almost winning several times. When it seemed that Shotzi Blackheart was heading to be the main contender for the NXT Women’s Championship, Indie Hartwell outside the ring handed Candice LeRae a knuckle knob that had no problem using it and thus ensuring her fight against Io Shirai.

– Toni Storm defeated Aliyah: Toni Storm dominated almost from the start, despite some fight from Aliyah, but in the end with his Storm Zero won his fight back to NXT.

Then GM William Regal was interviewed about the fights that will take place at Halloween Havoc, until he was interrupted by Xia Li, who asked for a fight next week.

– Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner) venceram Drake Maverick & Killian Dain: Killian Dain still used his strength to dominate the fight, but Drake Maverick ended up losing everything and the greatest experience of Imperium was fatal for the strange team of the British.

In the end the Imperium won the fight. As soon as it was over, the Ever Rise came to attack Drake Maverick, but Killian Dain attacked both fighters.

– NXT North American Champion Damian Priest venceu Dexter Lumis: THE main event this NXT was balanced from the start with none of the fighters able to impose their strength, as they are used to doing. The strikes Damian Priest still gave him an advantage but Dexter Lumis’s unorthodox style was always a problem for the champion.

In the end, the two fighters even resorted to submissions to try to win the match and it even seemed that we would have a new champion, but an interference from Cameron Grimes when attacking Dexter Lumis on the referee’s back, opened the space for the “Archer of Infamy ”To win the match and thus retain his NXT North American Championship.

However, the episode ended in the worst way for the champion, as he took a chair behind his back, courtesy of Johnny Gargano.

However, neither Johnny Gargano nor Candice LeRae would laugh at NXT, as William Regal alongside host from Halloween Havoc, Shotzi Blackheart announced that the two matches will have stipulations determined by a wheel of luck.
