This Wednesday (25), a part of the internet is not working as it should. This is due to problems with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing platform that serves as the basis for so many digital services, has instability, with consequences on countless websites.

The company confirms the instability in its platform for developers. The problem appears to be concentrated in the North American region, without directly impacting data centers in other areas. More specifically, AWS reports that the issues are linked to the US-East-1 region, on servers present in northern Virginia.

Amazon highlights that the instability mainly affects the Kinesis Data Stream API, causing, as a consequence, failures in several resources that depend on it. According to the latest release, this includes ACM, Amplify Console, API Gateway, AppMesh, AppStream2, AppSync, Athena, AutoScaling, Batch, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Cognito, Connect, DynamoDB, EventBridge, IoT Services, Lambda, LEX, Managed Blockchain , Marketplace, Personalize, Resource Groups, SageMaker, Support Console, Well Architected and Workspaces.

The Down Detector website shows that some Brazilian services have also suffered from instabilities at the same time as AWS. Among them are iFood, PicPay, UOL, Submarino and, of course, Amazon itself.

A curious point of the instability that Amazon has included in its service health panel is an alert that the problem is preventing the situation from being updated precisely in the service health panel, so customers are in the dark regarding the problems.
