State promotes public health improvement course

On Tuesday (24), the State Department of Health opened the inaugural class of the Improvement Course in Essential Public Health Practices, with the participation of the State Secretary of Health, Beto Preto, by video conference.

The course is promoted by the School of Public Health of Paraná, with 208 hours of duration, in the distance and face-to-face model, and directed to 310 employees of the Secretariat of all regions of the State and with less than 5 years of admission.

“The objective of the Government of Paraná with this course is to recover some functions and put the mark of a management that seeks professional training with critical, analytical thinking and prepared for the debate”, said secretary Beto Preto at the opening of the event.

According to him, it is time to regroup municipalities to face the public health situations that still lie ahead and also the time to give the professionals that make up this force an opportunity to debate within the scope of health decisions and actions.

The inaugural class was given by the consultant from Fiocruz and former Secretary of Health of Paraná, Armando Raggio.

SKILLS – Speaker Armando Raggio, who was also former president of Conass (National Council of Health Secretaries) and Cosems (Council of Municipal Health Secretariats) and former municipal health secretary in Curitiba, Sorocaba (SP) and São José dos Pinhais, said that the right and the practice of thinking are fundamental conditions for the exercise of functions in the health area and that the State Government shows its commitment by promoting a course that prioritizes the training of new civil servants.

“The Government of Paraná is investing in what is essential; you can’t make a home without a foundation, ”said Armando Raggio, referring to the importance of training.

He also stressed that the practice of thinking is essential and that this exercise should be part of the workers’ profile to face the critical situations imposed by the health area. “The day-to-day of health imposes the know-how and the knowledge of each professional”, he said.

“There is no point in doing more of the same, implanting models of old healthcare networks with new names. What should be done is to strengthen teams to create public health solutions for the benefit of the population, ”added Raggio.

The director of the School of Public Health of Paraná, Edever Daniel, stressed that the proposition and realization of this course is part of the Secretariat’s commitment to improving the health conditions of the population of Paraná, according to the objectives, guidelines and goals of the State Plan (PES).

PRESENCES – The Director-General of the Secretariat, Nestor Werner Junior, attended the inaugural class; the director of the School of Public Health of Paraná, Edevar Daniel; and the executive secretary of the Bipartite Intergovernmental Commission, Lilian Condalese.
