Raphael Veiga extended his bond with Palmeiras for another two years. The midfielder’s contract until December 2021 has now been renewed for the end of 2023.
Veiga, in turn, is very happy with the renovation and feels valued in the cast. In addition, he stressed that he was sought by other teams, but that he preferred to remain in Verdão. However, a good part of the fans from Palmeirense did not like this renovation…
Luis Felipe Scollari lavished praise on the player as a Palmeiras coach last year. With Luxembourg it was no different, the ‘pofexô’ even tried to put him as a striker aside, but there was no success. But now he has been the starting midfielder of the team, after having entered well against Mirassol, in which he scored the goal of the turn.
RAPHAEL VEIGA IN PALM TREES
Veiga arrived at Palestra in 2017. And after 22 matches and just two goals, he was loaned to Athletico Paranaense. There, he was one of the highlights of the Hurricane in winning the South American Cup and returned to the São Paulo club. Since then, there have been 37 more matches and six goals, but he still hasn’t managed to establish himself in the team.
And this lack of regularity means that fans alviverdes no longer feel confident that shirt 23 and even Lucas Lima will work in Verdão. The fact is that now his contract has been renewed and in theory, he will stay at the club at least until the end of 2023.
This season, Veiga has accumulated 188 minutes on the field, divided into four games. Where he scored a goal, overturning Mirassol, at the debut of the synthetic lawn. On the other hand, Lucas Lima was the one who had more minutes, altogether there were 516 in six opportunities, where he gave a pass for goal. On the other hand, Scarpa went to the field only twice, adding just 82 minutes, where he scored a goal and came to play left-back, in the defeat to RB Bragantino.
