The richest club in South America, Flamengo has invested a lot, but much more than all the Serie A rivals in reinforcements for 2020. So much so that the money disbursed by Rubro-Negro with its new faces is equivalent to almost everything that others spent 18 members of the national elite.
Flamengo needed R $ 149.6 million with its seven reinforcements. Excluding Red Bull Bragantino, the costs for all 18 other Serie A members were R $ 153.7 million. And in this group are national giants, such as Palmeiras, Santos, São Paulo, Corinthians, Grêmio, Atlético-MG, Inter and the other three from Rio, just to name a few.
Another observation that deserves reflection: seven of the 20 members of Serie A are ending the month of January without any cent invested in the purchase of economic rights or with loans. Coritiba, for example, hired 12 players, all at zero cost.
