O Galaxy S20 was announced by Samsung this week as cell successor to Galaxy S10. The smartphone reaches the United States market for the suggested price of $ 999 (about R $ 4,330 in direct conversion). Along with the announcement, doubts also arise about what has changed in the new generation. Highlights are: the 6.2-inch screen, the octa-core processor up to 2.8 GHz, the RAM memory up to 12 GB and the Android 10.
In the following lines, find out what changes in the Galaxy S20 when compared to the Galaxy S10, from 2019. The launch is offered globally in gray, pink and light blue. His arrival in Brazil is confirmed, but Samsung has not announced dates or values.

The Galaxy S20 has some changes in look compared to the Galaxy S10. In the front area, the launch has camera inside the screen located in the central part of the panel, while the predecessor had the hole in the upper right corner. The feature means that none of the cell phones have notch.

The two phones have almost no borders and have rounded screens in the corners. The S20 comes with screen Dynamic AMOLED 6.2 inches with resolution Quad HD + (3200 x1440 pixels). The S10 also comes with the same technology and resolution. However, it is slightly smaller – it is 6.1 inches.
Changes continue at the rear. The three lenses on the Galaxy S20 are now grouped in a rectangle similar to the one on the iPhone 11 Pro, different from the horizontal line characteristic of the S10.
Samsung kept the triple camera on the Galaxy S20, but it has greatly improved telephoto, whose sensor rose to 64 MP. The model also features 12 wide and ultra wide lenses MP each. The S10 comes with the set divided into two lenses with 12 MP (wide-angle and telephoto) and an ultra-wide angle of 16 MP.

The Galaxy S10’s 10 MP front camera was kept in the S20. Both models record photos with the portrait mode and have photo embellishment.
Performance and storage
The Galaxy S20 comes with the Exynos 990 processor (octa-core up to 2.7 GHz) in the global version (including Brazil) and chip Snapdragon 865 (octa-core up to 2.8 GHz) in a few countries (including the United States). Both are not so different from the S10, which has the processor Exynos 9820 (octa-core up to 2.7 GHz).

The Galaxy S20 also has two options for RAM memory. The 5G compatible model works with 12 GB and the traditional version uses 8 GB, just like the S10. The phones have a minimum storage of 128 GB, just like the previous generation. Both S20 and S20 allow use of memory card micro SD.
The battery on the Galaxy S20 has been upgrade to 4,000 mAh, slightly larger than the S10, which comes with 3,400 mAh. It maintained the Qi standard, which allows you to recharge the battery without the need for wires and both contain compatibility with fast charging.
Android and additional features
O Android 10 is present at the launch with the One UI 2 interface enhancement made by the manufacturer. The S10 left the factory with Android 9 (Pie), but must be upgraded to the new system. Both have access to the virtual assistant Bixby.

Both phones come equipped with facial recognition and biometrics integrated into the display. The S20 maintains certification IP68, that is, it has resistance to both water and dust. They also come with NFC, which allows remote payments with Samsung Pay.
As announced in the United States, the suggested price presented is US $ 999 (R $ 4,330. The Galaxy S10 was launched in February for R $ 4,999, but today can be found with prices in the range of R $ 2,700 in online retail.
