The study was done after the effectiveness of the drug was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to the report, patients who received the drug did not recover better than those who did not.
The university study involved only 30 patients. Half of them received chloroquine and of those, 13 tested negative for covid-19 one week after treatment. The other half, which did not receive it, had 14 patients recovered in the same period.
The responsible researchers concluded that further studies with more patients will be needed to fully investigate the real risks or benefits of chloroquine.
