This Thursday (26), Huawei presented its new line of smartphones top of the line P40. It arrives with three models and without the presence of Google Services and company applications (GApps).

Even so, will the new devices of the Chinese brand stand against its competitors from Samsung and Apple? TudoCelular prepared a life-size comparison to place the models side by side. Understand below:

Like its rivals from other brands, the Huawei P40 family offers three device options, with the line’s default name in the more modest version. The difference here is that the P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus models have the same screen size – which is not the case with the Galaxy S20 (Plus and Ultra) or the iPhone 11 (Pro and Pro Max).

The displays of the Chinese manufacturer’s cellphones follow dimensions similar to those of Apple, maintaining a maximum of 6.58 inches to their models – 6.5 inches, in the case of the “Apple” – and maintaining Full HD + resolution, while Samsung has in its most sophisticated model a 6.9 inch panel and resolution up to QHD + on its devices. Another highlight here of the two most advanced notebooks in the P40 series is the waterfall format, which allows you to have a screen up to the sides, to avoid edges.

In the rear, Huawei started to adopt a bouncing module in the upper left corner, in a rectangular look – just like Samsung’s Galaxy S20. Apple also adopts a similar block, but with a square design.

One of the main highlights of Huawei devices, the camera set features three to five rear sensors. The 50 MP main is maintained in all three models, as well as the presence of an ultra-wide lens. The most basic P40 has a common telephoto lens, with up to 3x optical zoom; the P40 Pro exchanges this option for a periscope; finally, the P40 Pro Plus prefers to bring both alternatives – the two most sophisticated still include the depth sensor.

Its Samsung competitors chose to include a periscope camera only on the S20 Ultra model, which still has a 108 MP main camera. On the other hand, Apple prefers to bring up to three 12 MP cameras, each with a different function – wide, ultra-wide or telephoto. But its most basic model has only two sensors – without the zoom.

For its new smartphones, Huawei decided to insert two front cameras: a common 32 MP and another only for depth. Both are in holes on the screen in the upper left corner.

The South Korean manufacturer abandoned the presence of two selfie lenses on the Galaxy S20 and kept just one, in a centralized hole at the top, in the three devices. The “Apple” continued with its single front sensor, present in the traditional rectangular notch.

In battery, the Chinese company inserted capacities between 3,800 mAh (P40) and 4,200 mAh (Pro and Pro Plus). The numbers are lower than the ones Samsung put on their phones – 4,000 (S20), 4,500 (S20 Plus) and 5,000 mAh (S20 Plus) -, but higher than those inserted by Apple – 3,110 (iPhone 11), 3,046 (iPhone 11 Pro ) and 3,969 mAh (iPhone 11 Pro Max). However, in our tests, the Cupertino giant’s devices showed a better autonomy than those of the Korean company due to optimizations of its system.

The Kirin 990 chipset has clocks and number of processor cores (octa-core) similar to the Exynos 990, while the “Apple” A13 Bionic has six cores. But the latter usually compensates for the company’s interface software.

The highlight here is the presence of 5G support only on the P40 Pro Plus. The South Korean rival preferred to create versions compatible with the fifth generation mobile network in all variants. In contrast, the American company has not yet introduced the technology in its latest cell phones.

In RAM, iPhones bet on the optimized platform and maintained 4 GB, while Samsung’s rivals stay at 8 GB – with the possibility of up to 12 GB on Ultra -, the same number present in the P40 family. In storage, Huawei and Apple bet on options for all tastes, which go up to 512 GB. The Galaxy S20 line was in a single edition of 128 GB.
